Home Depot is the worst when it comes to applying for a military discount. With Lowe’s, I had it taken care of within hours, completely online. With Home Depot, you’re screwed if you want to get or apply the discount anywhere except in-store, and no two stores are alike when it comes to applying the discount. Just another voice in the crowd reiterating what so many have already said.

I would get to the register with tons of stuff just to find out my discount doesn’t count towards most of it. Find a Lowes…the are great about the Military discount and always that you for your service during the transaction. Was in store to purchase garage doors 1 8×7 and one 16×7. The 16×7 was not in store inventory although it is common to most homes. Rob V. is the founder of OperationMilitaryKids.org.

Does Home Depot offer a Military Discount?
I have shopped there for years and never had any trouble applying the 10 % military discount. When I was told they had changed their ID policy I registered on line but now you have to use a smart phone app at check out. I don’t have a smart phone and don’t want one so I am told at their service desk there is no way to get the discount. Even if you have the app and could get the discount, most items are not eligible and this just happens to be the items you are likely to purchase at a building supply store etc.

On the app, you’ll need to access your account and click the Military Discount Program. First, download the Home Depot app or head to homedepot.com/military. The partnership will start with AAFES and NEX. You would be able to buy at the Exchange, and the orders will be filled by Home Depot.
